She has faced the painful decision to euthanize her own well loved retired racing greyhound. Even as a vet, she wished for more guidance and reassurance. Since then, her passion has been to support pet owners through this difficult phase, helping them navigate tough choices with compassion and professionalism. Michelle Nichols, MS, HonCAHP, CGRS, is an Animal Hospice Coach and Grief Educator who helps families navigate the final chapter of their pets’ lives with comfort and confidence—honoring the physical, emotional, and social needs of both pets and the people who love them. Through her nonprofit, the AHELP Project, she created Partners to the Bridge Animal Hospice Coaching, best begun when care shifts from cure to comfort—whether through natural decline or a life-limiting diagnosis.
